From May 20 to August 15, in the Queen\u2019s Alcove, the Royal Palace of Naples joins the celebrations marking 300 years since the birth of Giacomo Casanova.<\/strong> The three works by Pittoni\u2014depicting Apollo, Venus, and Diana\u2014evoke the sensual and playfully libertine atmosphere that served as the backdrop to Casanova\u2019s intellectual and personal adventures.<\/p>\n Giacomo Girolamo Casanova (Venice, April 2, 1725 \u2013 Duchcov, June 4, 1798) was a writer, diplomat, scientist, and esoteric thinker, as well as the iconic protagonist of countless erotic episodes from Venice to Naples, a city he visited at least three times. Hosted in the Appartamento di Etichetta, the exhibition features three paintings by the Venetian artist Giambattista Pittoni (1687\u20131767), along with rare materials from the collection of Casanova scholar Aldo Rav\u00e0, preserved at the Biblioteca del Museo Correr and the Biblioteca Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele of Naples.<\/p>\n
The exhibition design is overseen by the Royal Palace of Naples.
Access is included with the general admission ticket to the Royal Palace.<\/p>\n
